Hi all, we're at the half-way point of the rehearsals now, and its all hands to the deck. After working out the main blocking for the actors in the scenes, its time for me to hang up my directors hat for a while and let Meg work the scenes without music for a while. Mary will be returning to rehearsals after her work related abscences and tonsillitis, so we can run scenes fully cast again.
I'm playing Theseus, (that lovable tyrant), Bottom, Demetrius and Pixie II, since Jack's withdrawl from the production.
This has necessitated a few adjustments to the script, together with the already blocked entrances, etc. that I will be attaching to an email soon as the script's Purple Edition. Please Update your blue script completely , from this online edition, as soon as you receive it!
I am terrible learning lines, so my sympathies go out to all the cast who suffer as I do from verbal dyslexia. Hope you can talk your friends and relations into practicing lines with you, and come well prepared and on time to all the rehearsals from now till the run.
If you are going to be absent or late, please e-mail me, and not just tell me as you're running out the door. My days are frequently blended from rehearsals, and my memory is poor, so please e-mail me. Texting is too new school for me to run my life from, I much prefer e-mail.
Until I can re-record the worst of my mp3's I've closed the fots page too. Sorry 'bout that!
To avoid any confusion for 1st timer's to the stage, I have included a stage direction diagram below:
